1. Self-Awareness

Emotional Self-Awareness: You are able to recognize your beliefs, emotions and values. You know the effect your behavior has on the emotional competence, self-confidence and self-esteem of others who are “different.” You can express your beliefs and feelings with constructive words and actions that convey respect and value for people.

2. Self-Management

Emotional Self-Control: You recognize and control your negative emotional responses to “perceived” or real differences in others. You are able to remain calm and obtain factual/objective information before reacting. You consistently exhibit a measured reaction to emotional "hot buttons," that trigger negative feelings or stereotypical perceptions of others.

3. Social-Awareness

Accurate Empathy: You are genuinely empathetic to the exclusionary experiences of others. You are able to demonstrate an accurate understanding of their feelings and perspectives that differs from yours. You effectively convey your understanding of their need for validation of their self-worth, abilities and potential.

4. Relationship Management

Empowerment: You are able to build and protect self-confidence in others, using persuasive coaching, counseling and inquiry skills. You help others develop their maximum potential.
